Motivation

At Syngenta, we believe that for Generative AI to deliver true enterprise value, it must evolve from a standalone tool into core infrastructure. To rapidly scale AI and unlock value, Syngenta is building out a common AI Foundry—a centralized "manufacturing facility" for AI capabilities.

To increase employee adoption and drive tangible business impact, we follow a path of developing functionally specific AI implementations that contribute to, and leverage, this common AI Foundry. For the Production and Supply (P&S) Function—the engine responsible for securing global supply chains for $16bn in sales—we have created Austyn. We view Austyn not merely as a tool, but as our newest P&S talent. Austyn is designed to navigate the complexity of our supply chain, connecting data silos and empowering our 6,000+ colleagues to focus on decision-making rather than retrieval.

Most specifically, Austyn has become an integral team member within CP Core, our critical migration to SAP S/4HANA. By embedding Austyn directly into this transformation, we moved beyond experimentation to "Human-AI Collaboration" at scale. We are applying for the Enterprise Transformers track to demonstrate how a functionally specific AI, built on a robust enterprise foundry, can successfully bridge the gap between complex legacy systems and modern operational excellence.
