Motivation

At Philip Morris International, we are redefining how a global enterprise can responsibly and successfully scale Generative and Agentic AI. Over the past two years, AI @ PMI has grown from a small experimental initiative into a fully operational, enterprise wide transformation system - one that accelerates value creation, improves decision making, and equips tens of thousands of employees with safe, powerful AI capabilities.

We are applying for the GenAI Zürich Award because we believe our journey demonstrates that responsible, scalable, and high value-generating AI adoption can happen at speed and at scale in a traditional, highly regulated, global organization. We hope that this will inspire others to challenge the status-quo and embark in - or accelerate their own - AI transformation.

In addition, the visibility that the award would bring will allow us to build connections with, and learn from other companies who are undergoing similar AI transformations. Finally, external recognition such as the GenAI Zürich Award would help build our credibility inside of PMI, further increasing our impact on PMI’s transformation.

In summary, winning this award would amplify our story, inspire other organizations with their own AI transformation, and strengthen a community committed to building safe and impactful AI systems. Thank you for considering our application!
