Avani – Audio-Based Farm Insights for Better Policy

I applied for the GenAI Zurich Award because Avani represents the kind of AI I believe the world urgently needs. Not AI built only for efficiency or profit, but AI that listens, includes, and strengthens those who are often unheard. We have already shown that a simple voice-based system can earn the trust of farmers, scale at low cost, and produce insights that reshape how climate and agricultural decisions are made.

Now, we want to push Avani further by learning from experts who build and govern generative AI at the highest level. I am seeking rigorous feedback on our technical approach, data ethics, and scalability so Avani can grow into a reliable public infrastructure, not just a promising pilot.

Success at this award means more than recognition. It means connecting with peers who care about responsible AI, meeting mentors who understand deployment at scale, and forming partnerships that can take Avani from hundreds of farmers to millions across regions and countries. We have built something that works. Now we want to make sure it lasts, scales, and serves people with dignity.
